Abstract

Today's society relies on an ever-growing explosion of data collection, sharing, and collaborative processing, as well as on an ever-increasing need to efficiently perform extensive data analysis tasks over data produced and controlled by different parties. Such data, however, could be sensitive, company-confidential, or simply subject to access restrictions and therefore their use and dissemination must be properly controlled. In this talk, I will address such problems and illustrate possible solutions for enabling collaborative and distributed query execution with the controlled involvement of cloud providers that might be not fully trusted to access the data content.
